Perhaps not yet, but the handwriting might be on the wall…
How is a digital camera different from a film camera? What are pixels and why are they important? What’s the difference between optical and digital zoom? What advantages do digital cameras have compared to film cameras? Let’s address these and other questions as we discuss digital camera technology.
First a short history and overview of digital imaging…
The technology began with television in the early 1950’s when researchers discovered how to convert video images to electrical signals for storage on magnetic tape. In the 1970’s electronic still photo cameras were developed. These employed the first generations of solid-state image sensors. By the late 1980’s megapixel sensors were introduced - the technology that paved the way to today’s modern digital cameras.
Fundamentally, film and digital cameras do the same thing. Both utilize camera lenses to focus photographic images on a light sensitive medium where they are stored for later retrieval. But the way each camera does this is radically different.
Instead of capturing the image on film that must be developed and printed, digital cameras measure light and color characteristics using photodiodes built into a sensor - either a Charged Coupled Device (CCD) or Complementary Metal-Oxide Semiconductor (CMOS). An Analog-to-Digital Converter (ADC) then converts the signal to binary, or digital, code. This code is sent to a Digital Signal Processor (DSP) which adjusts photographic elements such as contrast and color, and compresses the file for storage in the camera’s memory, compact flash card, or other memory device.
Digital cameras have huge advantages when it comes to viewing and printing photos. It’s nearly instantaneous! We can immediately look at the picture on the camera’s LED screen, and if we don’t like it, delete it and shoot again. Or we download and view it on our computer’s monitor. And the pictures can be cropped or enhanced in minutes on the computer with photo software and printed with a photo printer. Plus many digital cameras have optional printer docks that don’t require a computer at all.
What’s a Pixel?
The human eye perceives a nearly infinite blending of light and color which high-quality film can approximate in a photograph. A digital image however, is a binary code file that records these variations as elements called pixels - short for picture elements.
Pixels are tiny squares of light and color, that when assembled create a mosaic. And like a mosaic, if the squares are small enough we see a smooth, photographic image. However, if the pixels are too big the transitions appear jagged or out of focus.
More pixels equal higher resolution and photos with clearer sharper detail, much like when you look at a mosaic with very small elements. For example, a 3 Megapixel digital camera can produce pretty good snapshots and even enlargements to about 8” X 10”. But the more you enlarge, crop or otherwise manipulate the image, the larger the pixels become, degrading the photo’s quality.
Size Really Does Matter
The number of pixels the sensor produces is important, but so is the quality. The CCD sensors of many small digital cameras are about the size of a small fingernail, while some larger models will feature sensors up to about 1” across. There are conflicting opinions about sensor type and size, and the technology is advancing. But in general it can be argued that the photodiodes in a tiny CCD probably won’t be as powerful or effective as an equal number in a larger sensor.
So unless your most important considerations are the smallest and/or cheapest camera, you’re likely to be happier with the picture quality from a slightly larger model, assuming both have the same number of pixels.
All Zooms Are Not Equal
The specs say the camera has 3X optical and 4X digital for a 12X total zoom. Sounds good, right? The answer is yes and no. Optical zoom works like a telescope, while digital zoom crops the picture. Using these zoom specs with our 3 megapixel camera example, here’s what happens.
Optical zoom brings the image 3X closer and uses all 3 million pixels. But digital zoom crops up to 75% of what the lens sees and the sensor is exposed to, so the photo now has about 750,000 pixels. Depending on lighting and other conditions, using full digital zoom may not even get you a good 4” X 6” print.
The Future of Digital Photography
The last few years have seen tremendous advancement in digital imaging technology. Some high-end digital cameras can now generate more than 12 million pixels and produce photos that rival medium-format film cameras. As with all electronic technology, it’s reasonable to expect even better cameras will come to the market over the next several years.
Photography “purists” will probably resist abandoning their film cameras as long as possible. But when comparing convenience, flexibility and quality, it seems inevitable that the majority of photographers will opt for digital over film photography – and probably sooner rather than later.

When you work at home you will find yourself often “tied” to a desk, sitting on your “rump” for hours at a time. Not the most physical activity I’d say
In order to make certain that you always maintain a peek level of productivity, it’s vital that you get some sort of exercise. It’s so important in order to stay focused and moreover, just to maintain a good level of physical fitness.
Remember this is YOUR business, there are NO sick days allowed. Now more than ever, it’s vital that you get pro-active about your health. Your business and YOUR family depend on it!
Soooo you know what to do…u gotta EXERCISE!!!
I make my workout part of my work schedule. Despite what the TV ads portray, we all know that working-out is NOT fun. If you associate it with recreation or a fun activity, you will learn to hate it because it’s definitely NOT fun!
I get SO ANNOYED when I see commercials on TV with people working out and smiling and laughing, just having a grand ‘ol time. For God sake, they don’t even sweat!!! Man who u foolin’…WORKING OUT SUCKS!!
I HATE the thought of working out, but I aboslutely LOVE having worked out. And that my friends is the KEY.
The ends justifes the desire. I look at the results and that is what solely drives me to keep on doing it. Now it’s actually gotten to the point where I “like” doing certain exercises; however, I still can’t stand the “thought” of having to work-out.
Because I hate thinking about it, I’ve made it part of my work schedule so that I don’t think about doing it. It’s just a regularly scheduled work task that I must do, just like all other work tasks. I actually have it programmed into my Outlook to remind me EVERYDAY!
Now everyone has their own idea of what exercise, or exercise program, works best for them. Some people go for walks, others jog and others go to the gym. But I work out in the comfort of my living room and I suggest, as a work-at-home pro, you do the same.
When operating a home-based business, your time is everything. Working out from home saves you loads of time, by not having to pack-up and get out of the house, drive to a gym, wait your turn for apparatus, shower, change clothes, etc. It just makes sense for people who work-at-home.
Whatever you do, just get off your caboose and start moving!
You can read more about the work at home exercise program I used to lose 25lbs. in 6 weeks.

If you owned a restaurant, you’d lock the doors after closing,
right?
If you owned a nightclub you’d hire bouncers to keep rowdy
people out, right?
You’d be surprised how many Internet business owners fail to
keep the gates closed tight… many are just begging for the
hackers and viruses to strike with an attitude of apathy about
security.
We’re talking security in this week’s article. I’ll share with
you some of the quick and easy strategies I use to keep hackers
and other undesirables away from my precious computer, which
after all is where my business is located.
Gotta keep it safe, sound and secure.
1. Get an anti-virus software. This is an absolute MUST. With
the virtually overnight global spread of computer viruses due to
the ever increasing use of email, viruses are on the rampant.
Arm yourself with an antivirus package that you can update
regularly for new virus definitions, to remain protected against
the latest threats. There’s a free antivirus package called
InoculateIt that many people recommend: http://antivirus.cai.com/
2. Be paranoid of email attachments. Even with a cutting edge
antivirus package, a virus might get through. Do not open
attachments with suspicious looking extensions (no matter who
they’re from). Absolutely stay away from .exe and ..vb files, as
these can be very malicious. In fact, disable these files via
your email software (check out the help file if need be).
3. Install a firewall on your computer. A firewall software is a
program that basically blocks outside access to your computer.
Without a firewall you leave your computer wide open to hacker
attacks… who can then gain total control over your computer
and all your files. Could get very nasty. Do not spend another
moment on the Internet without a firewall. It’s easy to install
and takes no time to get running. Here’s a good firewall
software: http://www.zonelabs.com/
4. Don’t download just any file off the Internet. Be very
careful what you download off the Net, as files might be laced
with viruses (or trojan horses - programs which maliciously give
hackers control over your computer). Only download files from
sites and merchants you have researched and trust.
5. If you don’t want others to have access to your computer
while you’re away from it, you can enable your screensaver
password. You’ve probably seen this in action in computer
stores: you approach this cool computer with a fancy screensaver
dancing across the screen. When you press a key or move the
mouse, you get an input box asking you for a password. To set
the password go to “Display” in the “Control Panel” if you’re on
a Windows PC, then click on the “Screensaver” tab. You’ll find a
checkbox that says “Password Protected” - check it and set your
password. By the way, this has nothing to do with the Internet.
It’s an “offline” security measure.
6. When you’re not using the Internet, just disconnect. This
will definitely stop the hackers… they can’t enter through the
powercord
Put these tips into action and prevent yourself later hassle and
heartache. You’ll be pleased to know that these simple steps can
eliminate the majority of security threats you face as an
Internet entrepreneur.
Remember the old business adage: “If you fail to plan, you plan
to fail”.

There you are, flipping through the radio stations yet again, looking for SOMETHING, ANYTHING, worth listening to. Maybe you’ll find a song here or there that you like, or a talk show on a subject you are interested in. Then it’s time to flip the stations again. “What I need,” you think to yourself, “is my own personal radio station.”
Enter the world of podcasting! Podcasting is just like having your own radio station, programmed with your favorite items and ready for you to listen anywhere, anytime. With podcasting, you can listen to:
[o] WHAT you want
[o] WHEN you want
[o] WHERE you want
No more searching and hoping to find a radio station that plays your favorite music. No more missing a talk show broadcast because you are sitting in class or in a meeting at the wrong time. With podcasting, you get just the content you want, from the sources you want, when you want. And there are no ads or commercials! What Tivo has done for your TV viewing, podcasting can do for your radio listening, and there is no FCC regulations either!
So what exactly is podcasting? A podcast is an audio file stored on the Internet that you can download to your computer or MP3 player and listen to whenever you want. It might be music, or it could be a talk show, a lecture, a recorded tele-seminar, a sermon, a football game, etc. Podcasting gives you the ultimate in choice and convenience.
o Podcasting is all about… CHOICE
Podcasting offers you unlimited choices in listening. Even though podcasting is a relatively new technology, there are already thousands of podcasts to which you can subscribe. No radio station in your city that plays the indy music you love? Check out East Detroit Radio.
Want to improve the koi pond in your backyard? Subscribe to Koi Club of the Air.
Parenting questions? Try the Front Porch Parenting podcast.
You can find a podcast on literally any subject you are interested in! In fact, www.podcastalley.com currently lists 2,380 podcasts in 15 different categories, while www.ipodder.org lists 4,493.
Another advantage of podcasting is that, because podcasts can appeal to niche audiences, they can cover their topics in much greater depth and be far more informative than regular radio broadcasts, which must appeal to a wide audience. Also, with a podcast, you can back up and listen to a segment again if you missed something the first time. If you come to a segment that is boring, you can fast-forward. You can listen as many times as you want to all or part of the podcast. And you can stop listening all together for a few minutes, hours, or even days if something else comes up.
o Podcasting is all about… CONVENIENCE
MP3 files have been available for download from the internet for years. But what makes podcasting different and truly useful is that you can subscribe to programs you are interested in. This means you don’t have to check your favorite podcast web sites every day for new episodes and manually download them.
Instead, free podcasting software automatically downloads new episodes to your computer as soon as they are available. This makes it easy and convenient for you to stay up-to-date with your favorite podcasts.
Once your podcasts are downloaded to your computer, you can synch them to your MP3 player, burn them to a CD for playback on your CD player, or simply listen to them through your computer’s speakers. This gives you the ultimate convenience of listening to your programs at your leisure. You can listen to the podcasts whenever you want – as you are driving, walking, exercising, knitting, etc. With a podcast, you can be mobile, live your life, and listen to your content ANYWHERE.
o Podcasting is… FREE & EASY
Not only are podcasts themselves generally free, but so is the podcasting software you need! Both podcasts and podcasting software are easy to find on the internet and are easy to use.
Podcasting is… waiting for you!
If you haven’t been exposed to podcasts yet, you soon will be! Podcasts are literally everywhere now, and more podcasts are being created every day.

Ok, so this is part 2 of the previous introductory article I wrote. I finished by mentioning that in order to get used to interacting with women, you should practice saying “hi” to random people in, say a mall. This is helpful for when you are out at a real social event, such as a party or out with friends at a bar or a club.
When you first enter the club or party, you should first scan the room to see if you can find any women you are interested in. Get near to her when you get the chance and initiate the conversation with a question. Usually, any question will do - it can be something you notice about her or even the place you are at right then. Once the conversation gets going, keep talking if you like her.
There are certain things you must consider before going out though. If you don’t take care of these key points, it won’t matter how good you are at attrcting women because all women will be put off by you.
What are these key points then?
* Keep clean. Shower before you go out, especially after doing any physical exercise or falling face-down into some dog poop.
* keep yourself groomed. Generally, women prefer guys who shave, or keep their facial hair neatly trimmed.
* Smell good. A good scent has the same effect on women as a feminine scent has on us guys. It’s a turn on! But don’t over-do it. A squirt on the wrists, the back of the neck and behind the ears is enough.
* Keep your hands and nails clean. Make sure your nails are cut.
* Keep hair clean and in control. Short hair is usually better than long hair.
* Keep your clothes clean. Pick a suitable style and make sure the colors match. As a rule, your shoes and belt should be the same color.
These are all appearance-related factors. Besides having these points in check, here are some other important points you should remember and put into practice.
* Eye contact. This is something alot of shy guys don’t do. And by not doing so, the woman subconsciously realizes that you are of lower status. This kills attraction instantly. This doesn’t mean you should keep constant eye contact, as this can be kind of freaky. However, most of your conversation should involve eye contact. This lets her know you’re not afraid to talk directly to her, and keeps the attraction going.
If you wear a shirt or a tie that matches one of the colors in your eyes (the eyes consist of many shades of color), you will notice how it attracts more people to you.
* Humor. Use a bit of wit in your conversation with women. Just don’t let your wit hurt other people by putting them down. Not even yourself for that matter.
Also, when a woman is talking with you, listen to what she is saying. Women like a guy who can reflect back on what they have said to them.
* Life and career goals. Women want a guy who is independent and can take care of them, even if she is successful herself. Set and meet your own personal goals in life.
* Attitude. Be positive. It makes a real big difference. Don’t blame others for your own failures or other negative things, even if they are to blame. Confidence is key to attraction, and women find this confidence and positivity very sexy.
Figure out what your strenghts are, and work on improving them so they stand out. Know what your weaknesses are, but don’t emphasise them.
Women - and this is especially true for really attractive ones - get attention from guys all the time. Try to visualize and understand what an attractive womans day is like when she is approached again and again by guys with the same lines and same character.
In other words, don’t be scared of approaching a woman, but at the same time be different from every other guy that has approached her. Don’t kiss her ass just because she was born attractive.
Don’t be boring like all the other men. Be confident when you approach, and don’t back down out of an approach. A normal conversation is all it takes for the most part, as well as strong eye contact.
When a woman is really beautiful, it can make you nervous, but try not to be intimidated by her beauty. She’s just human after all and would appreciate you treating her as one.
This means that you should be more interested in who she is, her personality, rather than her beauty. What makes her more special than any other woman?
Try to find out who she is, what her goals in life are, what she enjoys doing. Be interested by these qualities instead.
These tips will help you get ahead of the game and know what most men out there don’t know. Now go and make use of them.

FACT: If you create more attraction inside of a woman than is created by the guy she is currently with, then the chances of her getting with you are very high.
Still, it is up to the woman whether or not she would rather be with you or with the guy she is currently with, and this can depend on factors such as what she wants out of this and also what you have to offer. However, something you should keep in mind is that if any particular woman is able to leave her current “boyfriend” for you, then she is just as likely to leave you for some other guy who creates more attraction inside of her than you do.
You must remember that in order to attract and seduce women who are already in relationships, the same attraction rules apply as with single women. Many guys feel that there’s something special you must in order to attract women who are in relationships. Not true! Of course, there are always exceptions and they really are exceptions for reasons totally out of your control.
This article is aimed at guys who are new to the rules of attraction when it comes to women. In order to seduce women, it requires some knowledge of certain mechanisms and rules that have been tried and tested by many “dating experts”.
If you are new to the study of attraction, then this is definitely for you.
Pay attention and try to understand that some of the things you’ll read here will be completely new to you. You may have friends who always have dates whilst you wait and wait and have no success. You may even feel lonely because of this. When you go out, you may feel insecure, shy and very self-conscious about how you act and talk to other people, especially when talking to women.
I remember feeling that way a while back. I used to hate going to bars or out with a group of friends to parties and the like. And sure, I’d see girls who seemed to show me some interest, but I just did not know what to do. And eventually, the party would be over, or the girl would have left, and I used to be angry at myself for not being able to step up.
The first steps you should take if you are seriously interested in getting this part of your life handled include getting out more and socializing more. If you are out there in the field, you get a feel for how this whole thing works. You may even find yourself observing how other people interact, and to what level their interaction goes. This helps you get a feel for what works and what doesn’t.
Make plans with your friends, and stick to them. If you make arrangements like this, you are less likely to bail on them. One technique that is commonly used, and one that I myself have used in order to help me feel more comfortable interacting with people, is going to a mall and talking to random people. A simple “hi” will do wonders for your confidence.
What you’ll find is that people aren’t so scary to talk after all. Most are nice people, and will smile back and say hi, or even stop and chat to you! You could even go one step further and ask a default question to everyone you say hi to. This will help you talk for the sake of talking, with nothing expected in return, other than a pleasant interaction and as such, more experience under your belt.
You may even use this method when you’re out somewhere with friends or at a party. All it takes is a simple “hi” to begin with, and as you get more confident and comfortable interacting with people, you can ask a question that will open them for further interaction.
If you feel you can’t dive right into this by initiating a conversation with women, try it with men first. Then work your way up to speaking with women. There are some key things to remember about women though.
I will discuss these key points in a future article, where I will also go over some vital steps that you must take when meeting a woman you want to approach and seduce.

SAP just introduced localized version of its mid-size and small ERP solution – SAP Business One. As you probably know SAP Business One has Multilanguage in one company feature, and it is adaptable to unique tax rules, which is the case in Brazil. Among the other localized solutions: Microsoft Navision, Oracle Financials (or the whole set of Oracle Business Suite – Oracle Applications), Microsoft Axapta (localized version should be release in 2006), SAP Business One should be considered to be implemented for either Brazilian company with the connections to European and American market and business partners or for Brazilian branch of multinational corporation. Let’s consider market specifics and how SAP Business One could potentially fit for the ERP market in Sao Paulo, Rio de Janeiro or the whole Brazil.
• Multilanguage & Brazilian Portuguese Support. This is really strong point of SAP Business One - you can switch from say Portuguese to American English by pressing cntrl keys combination. System will close all your existing screens and this is probably the only inconvenience you may notice. Please, be aware that SAP Business One has also version with Portuguese interface for continental Portugal.
• Manufacturing/Production module. For the multinational company Brazil is often considered as the place for quality and cost efficient manufacturing operations. And we see diversified needs for manufacturing automation – from machinery to food processing. SAP Business One Production module targets the whole spectrum of manufacturing needs.
• CRM. CRM module is integrated within the system. We should mention modern design of CRM module and really intuitive interface for business professionals, dealing with sales analysis.
• HR. SAP Business One doesn’t have Payroll module for Brazil.
• Drag & Relate. This feature allows you intuitively drag and compare/relate the data in the system.
• Customization, Reporting & Integration. SAP BO integrates with Microsoft Office on the level of COM objects, it sits in MS SQL Server database (the only platform available for Brazil at this time). It has SAP Business One SDK and we expect large number of ISV with custom products show up on the Brazilian market within a few years. Besides internal SAP BO reporting – you can do reporting from SQL Server directly.
• Competitors. If you are looking from the number of installations in Brazil, then you should consider Microsiga, where you will see similar slightly higher license and system implementation prices. If you are looking for international ERP brand, localized for Brazil – then consider Microsoft Navision/Dynamics NAV, Microsoft Axapta/Dynamics AX and Oracle E-Business Suite, which includes Oracle Financials, also known as Oracle Applications. Microsiga should be recognized as very efficient Brazilian tax & government reporting solution, at the same time SAP, Microsoft and Oracle are catching up with the compliance of their localized MRPs.
• Releasing Dates. SAP Business One, having over 8,000 installations Worldwide is scheduled to be released in Brazil in November/December 2005. Microsoft Navision and Oracle E-Business Suite are available and availability of localized Microsoft Axapta (Microsoft Dynamics AX) version is 2006.
• Licensing Price Structure. SAP Business One has all-in-one named user licenses. This means that you do not pay for adding new modules – all the modules are available for the user and included in the license price. CRM-only user license is available at 50% or the all-in-one user license. SAP Business One requires also annual maintenance fee, which will give you now standard for the ERP industry software upgrade and discounted technical support.

Motor scooters are vehicles with small wheels and a low-powered gasoline engine geared to the rear wheel. The first patents for “foot powered” scooters date back to 1921. Up to that time there were no motors attached to the scooter. They were propelled by “foot power.”
The old-fashioned foot-powered push scooter was updated to a Razor motor scooter under the direction of Gino Tsai, whose father was a mechanical engineer for the J. D. Corporation in Shanghai, Taiwan. His motor scooter took about 5 years to design.
Gino Tsai claims that the reason he invented the Razor motor scooter was due to the fact that his father had to walk for miles every day around the huge bicycle factory that he worked for because of his short legs. To solve this problem he updated the old-fashioned push scooter into what we now know as the modern Razor motor scooter.
When Gino finished the development of his motor scooter he began to market it to the public. It quickly became a huge success with customers waiting as long as six months for their orders.
Why was the Razor motor scooter so popular? The Razor scooter was made from lightweight airplane grade aluminum which can support over 1000 pounds without bending. It is foldable, which means it can be stored in very small places. It has small polyurethane wheels and a low-powered engine. Braking is activated by stepping down on the rear fender.
Today there are many different brands and models of motor scooters. We have electric scooters and gas powered motor scooters. They are very versatile and functional, serving many different purposes. They are patterned after motorcycles, but have smaller wheels, lower-powered engines and can be “stepped through,” unlike the motorcycle.
The most commonly seen style of scooter is the “folding,” or “foldable,” scooter. These are two-wheeled models that are typically used for traveling short distances around the neighborhood. Braking occurs when the back fender is stepped on, putting pressure on the back wheel and stopping its movement. This type of motor scooter is made for kids or adults and can also be used to perform tricks on. It is very compact in size and can be folded for storage in small places.
A unique feature of freestyle folding motor scooters is the “kicktail,” a portion of the foot deck that extends over the back wheel. This is what provides the leverage for performing tricks. Motor scooters with “kicktails” are called freestyle scooters and usually have hand brakes due to the fact that the back fender allows for the performance of tricks instead of braking.
Electric scooters are generally bigger and heavier. Because of the extra weight they consume more power and can only go shorter distances when compared with the folding scooters. After about 10 or 15 miles it may be necessary to recharge the battery.
These electric, or battery-powered, motor scooters are often used to travel short distances around the neighborhood or perhaps on a school campus or other confined environment. They are particularly popular among the elderly, handicapped and disabled. Instead of being confined at home these elderly or handicapped people can now have some of their former independence returned to them. Motor scooters of this type are usually called mobility scooters.
Gas powered motorized scooters are usually more powerful and can attain higher speeds than the folding scooters or electric scooters. They can also travel longer distances when a larger fuel tank is included. Gas scooters may not be permitted in some areas so it is wise to check out the laws and regulations in your area before purchasing a motor scooter.
Motor scooters are cheap fun. Larry Johnson loves traveling around town without the need to take out a loan for gas. Visit My Motor Scooters for more information about electric or gas motor scooters.
